WHAT TO EXPECT

We want you to be comfortable when you visit Lakeview Church for the first time. We hope that when you finish reading “What to Expect” you will have that feeling about our church.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I FIRST ARRIVE?

As you enter the main doors, you will be welcomed by our greeters who will give you a copy of our weekly bulletin. The front cover of our bulletin has the morning’s order of service and the back page has contact information. Within the bulletin, you will find useful information about our church, our Statement of Faith, programs and activities.

If you arrive late, please feel free to sit wherever you like. If you need to leave early, that is not a problem.

HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

We do not have a dress code at Lakeview. The majority of our congregation dresses in business casual attire.

WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR MY KIDS?

Your children are free to remain with you during the service or if you prefer, they may be part of the children’s church ministry. For infants to kindergarten, we have a program that begins at 10:45 AM and is located in the lower level of the church building.

Children in 1st – 4th grades remain in the sanctuary for the first portion of the worship service and then are dismissed (during the offering) to the lower lever for grade appropriate instruction. Although there will be no announcement to dismiss the children, teachers will be outside the sanctuary doors to escort the children downstairs.

WHO GOES TO LAKEVIEW

Lakeview is a multi-generational church, so we have infants to grandparents and everyone in between. Lakeview Church is a wonderful family church.

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE? Check out our Statement of Faith.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING SERVICE?

Worship Our worship consists of singing, prayer, the reading of Scripture and expository preaching.
  • Singing – We combine both traditional hymns and contemporary songs in our worship. We incorporate piano, organ, orchestral instruments, guitars and drums.
  • Prayer – We incorporate prayer throughout the worship service.
  • Preaching – The congregation hears expository preaching from the Word of God.

Giving – We receive an offering each Sunday from members and regular attendees who contribute to the ongoing ministries of our church. Guests are not expected to contribute to the work of our church as we believe that giving is the responsibly of members.

Communion – We schedule communion once a month which generally falls on the first Sunday. We use the elements of bread and juice in our communion service. We also practice an open communion, meaning that we invite all who have professed faith in Christ to participate with us. If you are unsure of the meaning of communion, feel free to ask one of the pastors or the person who greeted you at the door and we will gladly explain it to you.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS?

Many people, including the pastors, remain after services so if you have any questions feel free to ask away. We would love to hear from you.
